ALB Orkas – La Guairá 3-4

LA GUAIRA had one big bat working, which was all they needed to beat the ORKAS 4-3 on Saturday in the Venezuelan Liga Paralela. They took a fast 3-1 lead after three innings. But an insurance run in the seventh was especially meaningful, as the ALB rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth to cut the deficit to a run.
LA GUAIRA’s third baseman Jose Gualdron dominated at the plate, going two for five with a homerun and four RBIs. Bryon Bell hit a solo shot for the ORKAS, his fourth homerun this season. Gabriel Montero and Israel Diaz also had RBIs. Sytse Visbsen again started on first base and had a single in two at bats. Daniel Bittar and Ricky Thomas each pinch hit late in the game.
Yulman Ribeiro (L 0-1) allowed three runs (2 ER) on six hits and two walks in his start for the ORKAS. He struck out three in six innings.
