Box score

Originally the ORKAS were supposed to open their debut season in the Liga Paralela on home turf. However rain postponed the start against the RAYS. On Friday, they finally played their first home game. They lost 4-6 against ARAGUA, despite a great start by Nelson Santander.

The former Hoofdklasse pitcher gave up just one run on four hits in five innings. He left the mound with the BBC leading 2-1, but ARAGUA came through in the sixth against losing pitcher Gustavo Suecum, taking a 3-2. They added a bunch of insurance runs, till the ninth, when the ORKAS started a late rally, which brought them back in reach. But it was too little, too late.

Gabriel Montero went three for five for the ORKAS, with a solo homerun. David Diaz reached three times and drove in two. L&D AMSTERDAM’s Koeiman Zair started on second base for the club. Steffan Hoogewerf struck out twice, playing right field on Friday.
