Three days before the transfer period (for transfers within the league) closes, the Dutch Hoofdklasse club MR. COCKER HCAW has announced their roster changes. Seven new players join the roster for 2010, eight will leave. They hope to narrow the gap towards the top four teams in the standings and try to stay in the race for the playoff spots as long as possible. HCAW finished in sixth place after the regular season with an 11-30 (1 tie) record this year.
New head coach Bill Froberg will welcome Aeden McQueary-Ennis as the big name among the newcomers. The British national teamer comes from ADO. Also strengthen the team in 2010 will be Robin van Eis (Corendon Kinheim), Joran Klarenbeek (Media Monks RCH), Bart Sabel (Konica Minolta Pioniers), Mitchel Koot (L&D Amsterdam), Joep van Els and Sebastiaan Olgers (both Rookie team of HCAW).
Already known was the departure of German left-hander Andre Hughes, who will return to the Baseball-Bundesliga club SOLINGEN ALLIGATORS. Also leaving are Haily Palm, Rutger Zwaal, Siemen Korff, Adrian Anthony, Jurien Overman, Sytse Visbeen and Joep de Wit. Anthony will join SPARTA/FEYENOORD ROTTERDAM. Overman, Visbeen and De Wit also will remain in the Hoofdklasse and are going to play for the promoted ALMERE MAGPIES.
