The French Baseball and Softball Federation (FFBS) announced on its website that the signing of catcher Andy Paz with the Oakland Athletics now is official. We already heard about it back in July, when the L’Equipe reported it. Born in Cuba he is living in France since 2007. The 18-year-old is scheduled to start his professional debut in the Arizona Summer League in 2012. Until then he will continue to attend the school in Toulouse and is going to play for Stade Toulousain in the French Elite League. He is the third French player after Joris Bert and Frederic Hanvi to sign with a MLB organization.
