The Italian Baseball and Softball Federation (FIBS) informs that Novara is withdrawing from the Italian Baseball League (IBL). The club from Piedmont leaves the league after three years on the top level. The IBL still will have the announced eight teams, as Tommasin Padua takes over the spot from Novara. Padua won the Serie A of the Federal Championship and the Federal Cup in 2013. It will mark the return of the Veneto region to the top level after Verona got relegated in 1997. Bologna, Parma, Nettuno, Grosseto (Mastiff), Rimini, Godo and defending champion San Marino will be Padua’s opponents in the IBL next year. The league will be split into two division during the first phase.
