Novara United has found a foreign starting pitcher for the upcoming season in the Italian Baseball League according to a report by Grandeslam.net. The 27-year-old right-hander Mitch Waters is coming from the Serie A club Sala Baganza to the north of Italy. Having played in the Frontier League in the past, the American dominated in the Italian Federal Championship. He went 11-3 with an ERA of 1.53 in 16 starts. He collected 147 strikeouts in 129 1/3 innings, while walking 24. He issued just ten extra base hits all season. He also swung the bat successfully with a line of .422/.510/.554 in 83 at-bats. Novara had already added outfielder Rodney Medina from Cariparma Parma and had extended the contract with Franklin Tavarez. The new manager is Mike Romano.
