Nicolas Launay returns to Cougars de Montigny

Posted on December 23, 2008 by philipp

The COUGARS DE MONTIGNY introduced their first new player for the upcoming season in the French Elite League. The 27-year-old center fielder Nicolas Launay is coming from SAVIGNY and returns to his former club. He already played with the COUGARS from 2001 till 2007. Launay batted .164 (OBP .280/SLG .195) with 31 runs scored and eleven RBIs in 38 games. He also was successful in all eight of his stolen base attempts.

The return of Launay could also lead to a postponement of Christophe Herard’s retirement plans. He said after the end of the season that he would delay his career end, if Launay comes back to the COUGARS. The 37-year-old first baseman had a batting average of .374 (.496/.525) with ten extra base hits, 30 runs scored and 27 RBIs in 15 games in 2008.
