News from Play Global!

Posted on October 29, 2020November 4, 2020 by philipp

Press release Play Global

Most of Play Global’s programming has been on hold this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. We want to get back in touch and let you know that Play Global is still working to reach young players and coaches around the world. Here are a few ways we will be helping teach respect and teamwork through baseball in the coming months:

Play Global was awarded a grant from the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv to support our work in Ukraine. We’ll start with an online coach education program beginning this December, followed by a training camp for Ukranian baseball players and coaches in April 2021.

Wilson Sporting Goods has donated a huge shipment of new baseball equipment to Play Global to be distributed to youth baseball programs in South Africa. Thousands of dollars’ worth of bats, balls, gloves and other items are on a ship heading to Cape Town. Local South African coaches will apply to receive equipment for their teams upon completing a Play Global coach education workshop. More details to come once the shipment arrives.

We will re-start the Baseball Le’Kulam (Baseball for All) program in Israel as soon as school and sports can safely resume there.

Play Global is establishing and Advisory Board to deepen our impact with a wide range of skills and experience.
