Nettuno Baseball with new Sponsor, new Player

Posted on April 9, 2013April 9, 2013 by philipp

Nettuno Baseball finally was able to reveal a new sponsor for the 2013 campaign in the Italian Baseball League, hopefully steering towards calmer waters. “La Banca Credito Cooperativo”, founded in 1899 in Nettuno will support the club this year.

Nettuno, which lost the first two games of the season last weekend against Parma Baseball, also welcomed a new right-handed pitcher on the roster. The 22-year-old Cuban hurler Antonio Romero has joined the team.

Romero was a member of the pre-selection of the Cuban national team prior to the World Baseball Classic and pitched for Industriales in the Cuban capital last year. He got married in 2012 and is living in Siena, Italy.

Reportedly throwing up to 90 MPH he already worked out with Nettuno and should reinforce the pitching staff. Other new players are expected to join the this week as well.
