IBAF Baseball World Cup winner the Netherlands are back on the International Baseball stage. On Tuesday the team of head coach Brian Farley opened their schedule at the preseason tournament “St. Petersburg International Baseball” with a 17-5 rout over the Canadian 18U national team. Eight runs in the third blew things wide open. Eight Dutch pitchers took the mound. Yurendell De Caster hit two homeruns in his Orange comeback. Bryan Engelhardt also hit the ball over the fence at Al Lang Stadium. Other opponents for the Netherlands over the next couple of days will be the Detroit Tigers, Canada again, Pittsburgh Pirates, Atlanta Braves and Tampa Bay Rays.
