The Netherlands closed out the first round at the VI Women’s Baseball World Cup on Wednesday with a 2-4 loss to Chinese Taipei. The Dutch team took a quick 2-0 lead in the first, but CT got on the board in the fifth and turned the game around with three runs in the sixth. It was their third loss in as many games. It was also a tough loss in the race for fifth place, as Chinese Taipei also is going to play in the consolation round. Venezuela and Hong Kong will be the opponents on Friday and Saturday. Thursday is going to be an off day in Miyazaki, Japan.
