Posted on February 17, 2013February 17, 2013 by philipp

The Netherlands crushed Team China 16-3 on Saturday in Peoria, Arizona in their fourth exhibition game prior to the 2013 World Baseball Classic. Six runs in the first gave the Dutch team an early and commanding lead en route to improving their warm-up record to 3-1. China meanwhile dropped to 0-5 after losing already in four games against a KBO team and a local college. Randolph Oduber led the way with three hits for the Dutch. Danny Arribas, Yurendell de Caster, Danny Rombley, Hainley Statia and Kalian Sams had two hits apiece. No word on which pitchers were used by manager Hensley Meulens in the game. On Monday and Tuesday the Netherlands and China will square off again. Afterwards both teams will fly to Asia to finish up preparations for the first round of the 2013 WBC.
