The past weekend in the Czech Extraleague was dedicated for postponed games from the start of the season. Two doubleheaders were scheduled on Saturday. MZLU Express Brno travelled to Prague where they faced Tegola Titans and close games were expected. On the other hand Skokani Olomouc made the trip to Blansko and everybody expected two easy wins against Black Hill.

Let’s start with the matchup in Blansko. In the first game Skokani Olomouc shut out Black Hill Blansko. It was starting pitcher Holicky of Skokani, who completed the game and didn’t allow Black Hill batters to score. Blansko started with Konvalinka, presenting itself also with a good performance. In the second match Black Hill sent Kostrhun to the mound and thanks to a good start of Blansko, after the second inning they already had scored six times, he wrote a winning game to the statistics. Skokani started with Vesely and lost by a final score of 4-9.

The second series played in Prague, finished with two wins for MZLU Express. Tegola started the first game with Kus and Express with young prospect Tomek. The Titans had the better start. Express didn’t find a receipt against Kus till the eighth inning and only Tegola had scored three times. In the fourth inning Jelinek replaced Tomek on the mound and Express turned the score with six runs in the last two frames to win 6-3. The second game, saw a battle between national team pitcher Kubat (Express) and young talent Blazek (Titans). Blazek completed another good game, but unfortunately Express brought more runs over home plate, winning 4-2. With these two victories Express is back in the fight for the playoff spots.
