The Munich-Haar Disciples have signed a new closer for their pitching staff. The 24-year-old American with British passport Cody Chartrand is arriving from the Oosterhout Twins of the second division in the Netherlands. After graduating from Lewis-Clark College in Idaho he received a pro contract from the Texas Rangers, but a shoulder injury cut his professional career short. With the Twins he pitched to an ERA of 1.64 as starting pitcher, but will return to his reliever role with the Disciples. He is replacing Lukas Steinlein, who will stay until June in South Africa for an exchange semester.
