Marco Stoovelaar reports on his website on Tuesday that head coach Monti van Brunt is leaving the Dutch Women Softball champion TEX TOWN TIGERS to join the Italian club AMGA LEGNANO. Van Brunt coached the TIGERS the past two seasons and led them to their first national title in team history. In 2009 he takes over with the Italian champion of 2007 and the reigning European Cup winner.
Van Brunt will be succeeded in Enschede, Netherlands by the American Kaleo Eldredge. She is 25 years old and a former professional Softball player for the New York/New Jersey Juggernauts and the Arizona Heat. The past few years she worked as an assistant coach at the Southern Utah University and the University of Central Missouri. The TIGERS also bring in a Krissi Oliver from the Louisiana Tech University to play the outfield. The Dutch league MVP Lindsey Meadows, who also played for Louisiana Tech, will stay with the club.
