Former Minor Leaguer Andrea Pizziconi to pitch for Nettuno in 2013

21-year-old right-handed pitcher Andrea Pizziconi is going to pitch for Danesi Nettuno during the 2013 season in the Italian Baseball League. Signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2009 and later traded to the Kansas City Royals, he posted a 4.47 ERA in the Minors. He got released during the fall of 2011 and joined Cariparma Parma in the IBL for the 2012 season. He didn’t have a great season back in Italy, going 1-3 with an ERA of 6.75 in 14 games (two starts). He struck out 11 batters in 33 1/3 innings, walking 27.
