19-year-old Dutch catcher Milan Post has signed a minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers organization. He will join the MLB organization for Spring Training. He is one of the most regarded prospects in Europe in the last couple of years, getting an invitation to the MLB European Academy four consecutive years. According to a report by Honkbalsite.com nine MLB clubs were interested in his services.
Rheumatism delayed his start into his professional career. He then originally had planned to join San Jacinto College in Houston, but now got an offer by the Brewers he couldn’t refuse. In September he, Rowan van Hoek and Ruben Prins did a ten-day tryout with the organization on the invitation of catching instructor Charlie Greene Jr. In December Post went to the United States for medical tests and then got signed by Milwaukee.
