The Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association (KNBSB) had hired former Major League pitcher Mike Hartley as new pitching coach at the beginning of the season. For the European Cup he will however return to his former team, the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe. KNBSB gave clearance that he is able to manage the club during the one-week tournament in Rotterdam next week. With one exception. He is not allowed to be in the dugout for their matchup against Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam.
