Team Mexico is facing a couple of question marks in the creation of its roster for the upcoming World Baseball Classic Qualifier in Mexicali. While a sold out crowd is expected, a couple of MLB affiliated are not sure about playing and the Mexican Baseball League apparently also is not going to be a source. According to a blog post, which cites Diablos del Mexico general manager Roberto Mansur, the LMB clubs won’t allow their players to participate even if the Mexican Baseball Federation now starts to ask. On paper Mexico is considered heavy favorite to win the WBC Qualifier against Germany, Czech Republic and Nicaragua. However with a couple of their top players not going to participate this could somehow level the playing field. The WBCQ in Mexicali takes place from March 17 to 20.
