Mensik Released by Los Angeles Angels

Posted on July 31, 2022 by MrBB

Czechia’s Vojtech Mensik has been released by the Los Angeles Angels, milujeme-baseball.cz has reported. The 24-year-old Brno native had appeared in 54 games for the Angels’ Low-A affiliate this season, slashing .214/.356/.264 and stealing 15 bases while appearing predominantly at third base.

Mensik was released alongside three other players on the Inland Empire 66ers roster (California League), with milujeme-baseball.cz noting the role played by the roster crunch produced by July’s 2022 MLB draft.

Mensik signed as a free agent with the Angels last year after completing his junior season at North Carolina State University, a season in which he became the first Czech to compete at the NCAA Division 1 World Series in Omaha.
