The Melbourne Aces out-slugged the Brisbane Bandits in the lone game in the Australian Baseball League on Tuesday. Seven runs in the bottom of the eighth sealed the 18-8 victory. Justin Huber, Grant Karlsen and Scott Wearne hit homeruns for the Aces. Yoshiyuki Kamei drove in five. Brisbane’s offense was highlighted by two homeruns each of Alan Schoenberger and Shuhei Fukuda in addition to a two-run shot by Akira Nakamura. It was game one of a four-game series between these two teams.
