German outfielder/first baseman Max Kepler of the Minnesota Twins is going to start the 2014 season with High-A Fort Myers according to a report by Tyler Mason of FOX Sports. The 20-year-old was added to the 40-man roster of the Twins last fall and will get a first crack at Major League Spring Training in the coming weeks.
After rehabbing a nagging elbow injury he started the 2013 season with at the mid-season point with Cedar Springs in Low-A and then got called to the illusive Arizona Fall League in November to bring his year total to 79 official games. This year would be his first full season.
When Kepler is playing in an exhibition game this spring he will become the third German player to do so with the big leaguers after Kai Gronauer (New York Mets) and Donald Lutz (Cincinnati Reds) in recent years.
