The FC BARCELONA stayed in the race for the championship after beating EL LLANO twice the past weekend. They now have to beat the MARLINS in both games at home to win the Spanish title.
In the first match BARCA used a five-run fourth to defeat the team from Gijon 9-1. Oscar Roman was two-for-three with a two-run double and a RBI triple. Jesus Golindano had three hits, including two doubles, and scored twice. Pau Sanchez drove in two. Homer Baez (W 11-1) struck out six in six innings, allowing six hits, a run and a walk. Fidel Mane (L 4-4) gave up ten hits and eight runs (6 ER) in five innings.
Remigio Leal (W 5-2) led BARCELONA to a 4-1 win in the second game. He struck out twelve in nine innings, giving up just one run on five hits and three base on balls. EL LLANO scored first, taking a 1-0 lead in the fourth on Juan Garcia’s RBI single. They even had the chance to score more, when they loaded the bases in the top of the sixth, but failed to bring a runner home. The FCB tied the contest in the bottom half of the frame through Miguel Mora’s RBI single. An inning later they decided the outcome with RBI singles by Emmanuel Febles (3-4, 2B, 3B, 2 Runs) and Jesus Golindano. A sac fly by Albert Diaz in the eighth finalized the score. Ariel Ledesma (L 3-3) gave up six hits, three runs (2 ER) and three walks in 6 2/3 innings.

The MARLINS shut out SAN INAZIO twice to solidify first place in the standings and need now just one victory next weekend against the FC BARCELONA to defend their title in the Division de Honor.
Leslie Nacar (W 9-1) and Renny Duarte combined for a two-hitter in game one, leading PUERTO CRUZ to a 4-0 win. Nacar pitched eight innings, striking out nine and allowing just three base runners on a sixth inning single, a hit by pitch and an error. On the offensive side, Richard Montiel (3-4), Daniel Sanchez (2 RBI) and Victor Lopez (2 Runs) had RBIs. Erik Arteaga (L 8-5) was charged with 13 hits and four runs in nine innings.
The second match of the doubleheader was similar to the first one. Ivan Granados (W 12-1), Jose Romero and Audie Nunez combined to throw a three-hitter. The offense came through in the second, putting six runs on the board en route to a 9-0 victory. Daniel Martinez, Richard Montiel and Victor Lopez each drove in two. Lopez also hit a solo homerun. Jorge Sandez (L 0-1) gave up nine hits, seven runs and a walk in four innings.

VILADECANS secured seventh place in the Division de Honor with a sweep of their doubleheader against BASEBALL NAVARRA. Juan Fernandez (W 1-1) and Alberto Magallon (W 4-6) each pitched seven solid innings to lead CB to a 3-2 and a 7-4 victory. Edgar Hernandez went four-for-four in game two with two doubles, a run and a RBI. German Arroyo (L 4-5) and Alberto Espanol (L 5-6) took the losses.
Astros Valencia – CB Sant Boi 3-10, 0-14 (7)

The CB SANT BOI completed their regular season in third place after crushing the ASTROS 10-3 and 14-0. Yoel Hernandez pitched a seven-inning perfect game in the second part of the doubleheader. The offense produced 24 runs on 33 hits in the twin bill. Marc Carrillo hit two homeruns. Milko Jaramillo and Jose Luis Riera each had five hits, Alvin Figueroa got four.
