Last night KNBSB in Nieuwegein hosted an extraordinary meeting for the federation council at 19.00 hrs in Merwestein multi sports complex. The gathering between KNBSB board and council had been requested by 6 out of total 18 council members in order to discuss a few subjects, which needed clarification mainly by new chairman Ron Schel.
The session was attended by 11 council members, including two of the three ladies in the council. At the conclusion of the discussion each of the council members expressed appreciation for the board’s attitude in the meeting and approach of the problems. Also attending this national meeting was Andre van Overbeek, ESF president.
A week prior to the council meeting, KNBSB announced that board member Mrs Marlies Struyve, in charge with softball, had decided personally to step down. For time being, former softball umpire Frits Mulder will be acting representative for softball in the board, but he looks forward to welcome a new board member colleague for softball, in order Mulder can focus again on baseball only.
In a short after party in the Brasserie of Merwestein, KNBSB Technical Director Gijs Selderijk celebrated his jubilee of 25 years in service of KNBSB in various positions.
