The Mannheim Tornados have reacted to a disappointing start into the 2015 season and are replacing Alexander Burkard with former Minor Leaguer Michael Torrealba. The 25-year-old Venezuelan right-hander got released by the Detroit Tigers organization at the end of Spring Training. He last pitched in affiliated minor league ball in 2013, going 1-0 with two saves and an ERA of 6.09 in 23 games for Lakeland in the Florida State League. He struck out 31 and walked 14 in 34 innings. Overall he had an ERA of 3.27 in seven seasons of professional baseball. He is expected to make his Bundesliga debut on Friday against the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg.
