On Thursday evening the Italian Baseball League club Grosseto Orioles held its annual general assembly. The biggest news out of it is the departure of manager Ruggero Bagialemani. Both sides agreed that they would decline the options in the contract for 2011 and 2012. Baseball.it names Vic Luciani and Enrico Vecchi as potential successors.
No change is expected in the front office. Roberto Baricci and Roberto Ferri were confirmed as honorary president and president. Giuseppe Retali most likely will remain the general manager. Additionally Monte dei Paschi di Siena renewed its sponsorship deal for 2011, but will pay less as in the past few years.
Player wise Chris Cooper, Leo Mazzanti and Yovany D’Amico will be back. Manuel Gasparri and Daniele Santolupo (still not confirmed though) are the first new guys on the roster. Grosseto is also talking to Fernando Gutierrez about a return and needs to find new agreements for Alessandro Vaglio (Viterbo) and Anthony Coromato (Codogno), who were on loan contracts with the O’s in 2010.
