Posted on April 30, 2014 by philipp

The Dutch Hoofdklasse saw a big upset on Tuesday. Making up a pair of rained out games from last weekend, the Mampaey The Hawks stunned L&D Amsterdam 10-6 on the road. Three runs in the fifth and four in the eighth decided the outcome. Jules Peters and Steven Wharwood each had three hits and three runs for the underdog. Quinn Tramm picked up the win with 5 2/3 solid innings. Jos de Jong got charged with the loss.

In the second game of the day in the Hoofdklasse, Corendon Kinheim won the rubber match of the series against the ADO Lakers 7-4 at Pim Mulier Stadium. Sven van der Sanden had a bases clearing triple during a four-run third to lead Kinheim with four RBI. After Nick Veltkamp pitched in and out of trouble during 5 2/3 ten-hit innings, Jean-Paul Gulinck and Pim Walsma shut the door from the bullpen.
