Just a couple of days after the announcement of the ADO Lakers withdrawal from the competition in the Dutch Hoofdklasse, the Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association (KNBSB) has found a replacement. Mampaey The Hawks, which got relegated following the 2014 season and then tried to sue the KNBSB to get back into the Hoofdklasse, takes the open eight spot.
The Hawks will enter the third consecutive season in the Hoofdklasse. Several players of the ADO Lakers will join the team based in Dordrecht. The most known acquisition however will be Bobby Carrington, who pitched for ADO and DOOR Neptunus in the Hoofdklasse. Also coming are Tim Roodenburg, Evan Simmons, Kevin van Veen, Julian Goins and coach Eugene Henson according to Honkbalsite.com. Head coach is Rik Ruts from Belgium.
