Malta Baseball Festival

by www.baseballeurope.com

Early this week, the Malta Baseball & Softball Association (MABS) announced they will be organizing a major event, The Malta Baseball Festival. This highly-anticipated festival will be a charity event, and will take place on Sunday the 17th of October, from 11am till 4pm, at the Marsa Sports Grounds. The event kicks off an important season for MABS, as the organization strives to promote the sports of baseball and softball around the Maltese Islands. The charity event will be the first of its kind organized by MABS and entrance is free.

There will be several activities open to the general public during the festival, suitable for all the family. Adults and children could try out their skills at the Batting Cage and Pitching Net, along with other many fun stations. Especially for children, coaches will be organizing various ball games so that the young visitors can participate and try out teeball, which is an introductory game to the sports of baseball and softball.

At the event, parents will have the opportunity to sign up their children for the MABS annual baseball program or register for a FREE trial period, where qualified coaches organize training sessions for children. These coaches will be present at the festival, and therefore, this event would be a perfect time for parents to find out exactly what the baseball program is all about.

The Stars from Malta’s TV and music scene will be joining the festival as well. Finishing the day with a bang, local celebrities will show off their skills on the diamond in a Celebrity Softball Game.
