Fortitudo Bologna has signed former Major Leaguer Jose Ascanio as pitcher for the 2016 season. The 30-year-old Venezuelan pitched for the Atlanta Braves, Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates in the big leagues to an ERA of 5.28 between 2007 and 2011. The last three years he has been playing in Mexico. Last year he had an ERA of 3.09 in 41 appearances for Oaxaca.
