Previewing the start of the 2014 season the Mainz Athletics have revealed that middle infielder Lars Szameitpreuß has left for northern division opponent HSV Stealers. The 22-year-old had left the Solingen Alligators last winter to join the A’s, hoping for more playing time. Playing second base he batted .250/.368/.250 with 17 runs and 12 RBI in 26 games for Mainz last year.
