In their home opener, the Luzern Eagles took it to the Barracudas in game 1 by a score of 6-2. The Eagles played great defensively to support pitcher Stefan Haltmeier who was able to keep the Barracudas powerful offense off balance all day to notch his first win on the season. Marco Limacher came in to finish the last two innings to preserve the win.
The Eagles heart of the lineup Adam Greenberg and Roc Hroch produced seven of the 10 hits by the Eagles. Greenberg had four knocks and broke the game open with a three run bomb in the fourth inning to make the score 5-1.
The Barracudas who had 11 hits on the day were not able to string any momentum together, they were led by Chris Michals who hit a home run and had two rbi’s on the day.
In game 2, the Barracudas rebounded to beat the Eagles by the score of 7-1. The Eagles pitcher Adam Greenberg who defeated the Barracudas in Zurich earlier in the month by a score of 3-2 took the mound and was quickly greeted by a leadoff hit by Josh Crouse and then Tyler Wagner went yard to set the tone and put the Barracudas on top 2-0.
The Barracudas sent Chris Michals to the mound and he was sharp and dominated the Eagles through six innings allowing only one earned run striking out 7 batters in route to picking up his second win on the season. Michals also went yard with a deep blast to left putting the game out of reach for the Eagles. Tyler Wagner added three knocks and Nderim Coma and Josh Crouse chipped in with two knocks each to lead a solid Barracuda offense who pounded out 11 hits.
