Luca Panerati attracts interest from Japanese Independent League Club

Posted on November 22, 2012 by philipp

More and more European players are getting a chance to play in Japan. And after the big success Alessandro Maestri had in his first year, more and more Japanese clubs are looking towards the old continent. According to a report by Grandeslam.net the independent league team Ishikawa Million Stars has interest in former Minor Leaguer Luca Panerati. The 22-year-old left-hander from Grosseto had an impressive season with Unipol Bologna this summer, winning the European Champions Cup. In three years with the Cincinnati Reds organization the southpaw was 6-10 with an ERA of 4.59 in 52 games. In his first season back in the Italian Baseball League he went 7-3 with an ERA of 2.57 in 13 starts.
