Three games were played in the German Baseball-Bundesliga on Friday evening with Regensburg, Heidenheim and Mainz winning big. The Buchbinder Legionaere used their B lineup to erase a 1-5 deficit against the Hawks on route to a 13-5 win. Matt Vance led off the game with a solo home run. Elias von Garßen and Ludwig Glaser combined for six RBI. Harold Castillo hit a two-run home run for Tubingen.
The Heidenheim Heidekoepfe scored 20 runs in just five innings on route to a 20-4 blowout over the Stuttgart Reds. James McOwen went 4-for-4 with four runs and five RBI. Johannes Krumm collected five RBI. Simon Guehring scored four times. Robert Gruber hit a long ball. Jay Pecci crossed the plate five times.
The Mainz Athletics got some payback against the Mannheim Tornados, winning 15-0 in seven frames. They already led 7-0 after two and added eight more runs in the fifth. Mike Larson homered and drove in three. All players in the starting lineup crossed the plate at least once. Christian Decher pitched a three-hit shutout.
