Another game day is under way in the Australian Baseball League. Dutch right-hander Loek van Mil debuted for the Adelaide Bite on Friday, pitching the ninth inning of their 6-3 win over the Sydney Blue Sox. He threw all seven of his pitches for strikes to induce a pair of groundouts and a flyout to end the game.
Meanwhile Germany’s Donald Lutz rebounded from his 1-for-11 start with the Brisbane Bandits last week, by going 3-for-5 with two doubles on Friday. His Bandits came back in the tenth to win 6-5 after blowing a 2-0 lead in the top of the ninth. Lutz drove in a run and scored the tying run in the extra inning.
