After nearly waiting a month due to passport issues, Dutch right-hander Loek van Mil finally made his debut for the Minnesota Twins affiliate in Rochester this week. On Wednesday he threw two innings of scoreless relief, allowing a hit and a walk, while throwing 12 of his 24 pitches for strikes. It was his first appearance in affiliate minor league ball since 2013, when he was with the Cincinnati Reds. In 2014 he pitched in Japan. This season he was a member of Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam in the Dutch Hoofdklasse. Following strong performances in Europe he got rewarded with a new contract with the Twins. He originally had signed with Minnesota and made his professional debut for that organization in 2006.
