Dutch right-handed pitcher Loek van Mil has officially made the cut to be added to the final roster of the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. The 29-year-old will be the third player from the Dutch National Team after Wladimir Balentien and Andruw Jones to play in Nippon Professional Baseball (NBP). The 2014 season starts on Friday. The reigning champion Golden Eagles is facing the Seibu Lions in their opening series. Van Mil earned the contract with Tohoku after a couple of tryouts last fall (with the Softbank Hawks) and this spring.
