Lithuania, Switzerland Advance from Little League Europe & Africa Qualifier

Posted on July 17, 2026July 29, 2026 by Gabriel Fidler

Six teams battled this week in a round-robin tournament in Kutno, Poland, for the right to advance to the Little League Europe & Africa Region Tournament next week. Representing differing Little League (LL) regions in their country, Central Lithuania LL and Switzerland West LL finished at the top of the table, the latter claiming its place with a final-day nail-biter over Lithuania. The win propelled it past East Austria LL, which itself only finished ahead of Klub Sportowy Wrocław LL (Poland) by run differential. Also on the final day, Slovakia West won a double-header to enter into the win column.

The Europe & Africa Region Tournament will also be held at the outstanding youth baseball facility in Kutno, as it is every year, from July 19–26. There are 10 international region tournaments and the same number in the U.S., with the winners advancing to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa., from Aug. 19-30.

Central Lithuania and Switzerland West will join Belgium Region 3, Catalunya (Spain), Croatia North, Kyiv Baseball School (Ukraine), London Youth Baseball League (United Kingdom), Rotterdam (Netherlands), South Czech Republic, South-West Germany, and Veneto (Italy). The 12 teams will be split into two pools. The 2025 winners were South Czech Republic, which lost to Japan before falling to Australia in a close game.
