The 27-year-old Lindsey Meadows of reigning Hoofdklasse champion Tex Town Tigers completes the Dutch National Team roster for the upcoming 12th World Softball Championship in Caracas (June 23-July 2), Venezuela. She is the fourth pitcher on the team of head coach Craig Montvidas besides Dagmar Bloeming, Kirsten Scheele and Rebecca Soumeru (all three Sparks Haarlem).
Meadows was born in the United States and came to the Netherlands in 2005. She married Tim Oosterveld and already indicated a while ago that she also wants to become naturalized. She received her passport on June 9 and became a Dutch citizen, which makes her eligible to pitch for the Netherlands in the Softball Worlds. The 16 other players were announced at the end of May. But at that time the Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association already had said that they are going to add another pitcher to the squad.
