On Monday ELB President Wim van den Hurk met the board of L&D Amsterdam to discuss the Euro League Baseball. After the gathering the ELB announced that the Pirates will join the proposed first professional baseball league in Europe for the 2016 season. They are basically replacing the Vaessen Pioniers in the lineup, which got downgraded to “aspirant member”, which means that they won’t play in next year’s campaign. Other participating teams are supposedly T&A San Marino, Unipol Bologna, Rouen Huskies, Templiers Senart, Haar Disciples, Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg, Bonn Capitals, Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam and Draci Brno.
