L&D Amsterdam beats Corendon Kinheim again, as Hoofdklasse continues

Posted on April 17, 2009 by philipp

L&D AMSTERDAM defeated CORENDON KINHEIM on Thursday evening 5-4 behind a two-run homerun by Fausto Alvarez and two RBI by Bjoern Henrichs , kicking off the second week of Hoofdklasse Baseball in the Netherlands. The champion of 2006 and 2007 tried to come back after trailing 1-5 in the seventh, but weren’t able to bring the tying run across the plate. Jason Halman hit a solo homerun for the team from Haarlem.

KINHEIM already had lost the first two games against the PIRATES last weekend and starts the season 0-3 after a successful European Cup at the beginning of April. They will take on RCH MEDIA MONKS on Saturday and Sunday. AMSTERDAM is playing against SPARTA/FEYENOORD. The matchup yesterday was a rescheduled match from June 18, as both teams qualified for the European Champions Cup in Barcelona, which takes place on June 20 and 21.
