According to our correspondent Pim van Nes the president of the Dutch Baseball and Softball Federation (KNBSB) Ruud van Zetten and his fellow board members are stepping down following an extraordinary parliament session in the federation office at the house of sports in Nieuwegein, Netherlands, which took place on Wednesday. The meeting had been convened in early October after an appeal board had given permission to the promotion of the Almere Magpies into the Hoofdklasse despite concerns regarding their finances by the KNBSB board.
At the parliament session with all Dutch clubs on Wednesday there were votes of confidence for a) the KNBSB board and b) the appeal board. During the elections, the clubs voted unanimously in favor of both boards. However Van Zetten and his board members weren’t satisfied with this decision and resigned. The conflict between the two parties is brewing since last year following a benches clearing brawl between Corendon Kinheim and Konica Minolta Pioniers. In this case the two boards disagreed about the final result of the interrupted game.
