The Karlovac Kelteks (11-1) are closing in on their second straight Croatian Baseball League title.
Karlovac is led by talented shortstop Jason POSPISHIL who is hitting .561 with seven doubles and a homer. The Most Valuable Player of last year’s playoff final against BSK Zagreb, POSPISHIL has collected 21 hits in 46 at-bats.
Damir KARIN (.558), Dario LATKOVIC (.500), and Josip BROZINIC – the best hitter in last year’s final – are other top offensive threats for the Kelteks. Gary TONGUE (3-0, 1.57) and Mario ZDELAR (5-0, 2.08) anchor the Karlovac pitching staff.
BSK Zagreb has a couple of capable arms in Matija GROFELNIK (6-1, 3.60) and Dejan MARIN (2-1, 1.94). The top hitters are GROFELNIK (.444), Dario CUSAK (.438), and Marko PAVLAKOVIC (.437).
Oliver KNOLMAJER is hitting .458 for Vindija and Ivan RACIC is 11-for-30 for a .472 batting average for Nada SSM.
