Dutch outfielder Kalian Sams has ended his Mexican Winter League adventure. The 27-year-old, who bounced from the Seattle Mariners to the San Diego Padres and to the Texas Rangers organizations this year, decided together with the Algodoneros de Guasave to terminate his contract. He was mired in a slump after a turbulent year. He will go home to The Hague, recover and then prepare for the new season. He was batting .192/.300/.410 with four home runs, 11 runs and 13 RBI in 22 games in Mexico. In the Minors the sluggers batted .242/.355/.507 with 15 home runs and 40 RBI in 70 games between Double-A and Triple-A. He also played five games in an independent league.
