The Texas Rangers and the Detroit Tigers completed a blockbuster trade in Major League Baseball on Wednesday, exchanging the services of second baseman Ian Kinsler (from Arlington to Detroit) and first baseman Prince Fielder (from Detroit to Arlington) plus $30 million. While Detroit gets a new second baseman and more flexibility, Texas adds a powerful bat at first/designated hitter. But more so the Rangers open room for Jurickson Profar. The Dutch prospect served as super utility player this past season. Now he can win the second base job in Spring Training, which should help him after struggling without a regular position. He batted .234/.308/.336 in 85 games this year. He played at second, third, short, DH and in left field for the AL West team.
