20-year-old German outfielder Julsan Kamara has ended his baseball career according to a news article from the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg a couple of days ago. He played the past two seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies in the Dominican Summer League, but got released last fall. In January he then agreed to play for the Buchbinder Legionaere, but shortly after he had a change of heart and now moves to Wiesbaden to go to school.
Kamara, who learned to play baseball with the Mainz Athletics, had joined the Regensburg academy in 2012 and quickly signed with the Phillies. However in the DSL he didn’t celebrate a breakthrough and the organization didn’t show much patience with his development.
