CB Barcelona revealed through Facebook on Monday that they have signed two new players for the upcoming season in the Spanish Division de Honor. New shortstop will be Rainny Peguero. The 23-year-old played for Ciudad Condal last year, batting .266 in 24 games. He will replace Oscar Angulo, who joins the Astros Valencia.
35-year-old American outfielder Jonny Kaplan on the other hand is a 12-year veteran in professional baseball. Following two stints of affiliated minor league ball with the Arizona Diamondbacks and St. Louis Cardinals, he played in independent leagues. Additionally he spent time in the Venezuelan Winter League and the Mexican League. Last year he was a member of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs and the Kansas City T-Bones. He batted .187/.264/.224 between the two teams. Overall he has a .293/.368/.451 batting line in professional baseball.
