The 39-year-old Johnny Balentina has been appointed as new manager of the Curacao National Team, succeeding Raymond van Gurp according to a report by Honkbalsite.com. He will be assisted by Sendley Reina and Didi Gregorius Sr. He will also lead the team during the World Port Tournament in Rotterdam this summer, playing against the Netherlands, Cuba, Germany and Japan. Balentina was part of the Dutch National Team between 1992 and 2007. He took part five times in the WPT, being named MVP in 1997. The preliminary roster of Curacao is led by the returning pitcher Duko Jansen, Sparta/Feyenoord players Quintin de Cuba, Quincy Lambertina and Marc Hennep, and former pro players Levi Carolus, Edinho Meyer, Ulrich Snijders, Hayrich Martina, Lorvin Louisa, Ardley Jansen, Quincy Ascencion and Arthur Bonevacia.
