CB Barcelona is adding two players from Spanish Division de Honor rivals for the 2017 season.
33-year-old Venezuelan Jesus Castillo is a veteran of the top league in Spain, having played for CD Amaya, Tenerife Marlins and the past two years for CD Pamplona. He also has played in the Netherlands and the United States during his career. The shortstop batted .302 with 30 stolen bases during last year’s campaign.
Meanwhile one of the most dominant pitchers is transferring from CBS Sant Boi to the Catalonian club. Zael Honora joins Barcelona after a 41-12 record with an ERA of 1.66 in the past four years for Sant Boi. The 26-year-old Venezuelan right-hander played two seasons in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.
