The Heidenheim Heidekoepfe have signed the 36-year-old Jay Pecci for the 2013 season. The American with Italian passport is coming from Grosseto, Italy where he played for Heidenheim’s head coach Mike Hartley last season. The former Stanford standout and Triple-A Minor Leaguer with the Oakland Athletics, Seattle Mariners and San Francisco Giants already joined the team and played a couple of preseason games. He is going to play at short for the Heidekoepfe.
